Types of Icing for Cakes

• Frostings – This is often made with butter mixed with icing sugar and has the inclusion of pasteurised egg white that makes it firm to stay intact when piped on cupcakes. Cupcakes serve as miniature cakes that give you the freedom to decorate it the way you want to. You could add colour to the frosting mixture to give the cup cakes a peppy look.

• Fondant – It is an opaque covering made with a mixture of sugar, gelatine, and glycerine to give it dough-like consistency. Fondant is often used to replace icing, especially for wedding cakes. It protects the cake from falling apart, and as the fondant doesn’t melt away with humidity, it is a preferred type of icing by several who feel that it acts as a protective layer as well as serves as a decorative.

• Buttercream – This made by mixing butter with milk, icing sugar, and vanilla essence until it gains a consistency as that of an icing. These are used for cakes that are meant for immediate consumption or those that are stored in cold areas. Buttercream tends to melt as soon as it is out from refrigeration. It is a perfect option while organising birthday parties at home and serving cakes or cupcakes to guest to be consumed immediately.

• Ganache – It is a chocolate icing made after whipping dark chocolate with cream. The texture is often thick and heavy and should often be paired with a cake that is heavy such as a mud cake. Having it over a sponge cake would defy the work of the cake and thus focussing more on the icing.

Making Best Beef Burger

The Ingredients and Instructions

The ingredients needed for a beef burger are as follows: 1 kilo of ground round, ¼ cup of bread crumbs, 1 slightly beaten large egg, 5-6 tablespoons of soy sauce, 4 tablespoons of milk, 2 tablespoons of salt, and 1 teaspoon of pepper. For those who prefer a sharper taste, minced garlic and onions may also be added. All the ingredients should be placed and mixed together in a bowl. Cover the bowl with a plastic wrap and rest the burger mixture inside the refrigerator for about 20-30 minutes.

After resting the mixture, take it out of the refrigerator and form into 8-10 patties, depending on your size preference. Lightly fry the patties in corn oil or any cooking oil for about 3-4 minutes on each side, depending on how done you want your beef burgers to be. Place the patties on paper towels to drain excess oil and place in a burger bun. You may also add cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, and other condiments to your burger such as ketchup, mayonnaise, and mustard. You may also serve the beef burgers with rice, vegetables, and gravy.

The Key in Having a Truly Delicious Burger

No matter how expensive the ingredients you use in your burger recipe, you will never obtain a delicious burger unless they are fresh. The freshness of the ingredients will determine the final outcome of the taste of your burger. You will also notice that the simpler your recipe is, the more delectable your beef burger becomes. This is because beef is tasty as it is. The addition of the other ingredients should simply complement it, not overpower. The reason why others produce a burger with no appeal is due to the fact that there are too many extenders or unnecessary ingredients to the patty recipe.

Delicious Recipe For Venison Burgers

Medium Rare Venison Burgers Recipe

1 lb. ground venison
½ lb. ground pork
½ cup chopped onion
1 tbsp. finely minced jalapeño pepper
Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste
2 tsp. ground cumin
1 tbsp. Worcestershire or soy sauce
3 tbsp. olive oil
2 tbsp. minced roasted garlic
2 tbsp. dried mushrooms, ground into powder

Preparation Method for Medium Well Done Burgers:

– Roast garlic by cutting garlic head in half and rubbing cut side with oil. Wrap in foil and roast for 30–40 minutes in 350-degree Fahrenheit oven. Cool bulbs and squeeze softened garlic from the skins and chop it finely.
– Saute onion and pepper in 2 tablespoons of the olive oil. Cool the mixture.
– Mix all the ingredients except 1 tablespoon of the oil, shape into 6–8 patties and return them to refrigeration for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
– Heat remaining olive oil in skillet until medium hot. Add patties and sear over medium high heat 5–6 minutes per side or until venison and pork reaches an internal temperature of 160 degrees. The USDA has relaxed temperature regulations for lean pork to 145 degrees, but you should continue to cook fatty ground pork thoroughly for safety.

Preparation Method:

– Use the above ingredients and cooking method, but substitute 1.5 pounds of ground venison for the venison and pork. Add three tablespoons of sour cream and 1 egg.
– You can cook these medium or medium rare at 145 degrees, but you should allow the meat to rest for a few minutes before eating to allow residual heat to kill any bacteria.

Dressing Your Venison Burgers Recipe to Impress

Venison makes the meat the star of any venison burgers recipe, so choose condiments accordingly. Textured bread like Kaiser or onion rolls make great choices, and bleu cheese, aioli mayonnaise or barbecue sauce would compliment the flavor profile of these burgers very well. Butchers will often add beef or pork fat to freshly ground venison on request, or you could make the above changes to get perfectly moist and delicious burgers. Pure venison meat will often prove too dry and crumbly unless you add extra fat to the meat mixture.
